All The Pinks.

This was the day when I actually wasn't going anywhere that interesting, I just wanted to wear my new 'old' clothes and dress up a little - why not? Why should nicer clothes be pushed to the back of the wardrobe for special occasions? If I happened to be a fancy jacket or a particularly sparkly dress I would feel very left out of I only got to see the light of day once a year for an hour or two.

I emerged from the house looking like I was about to be whisked off somewhere fancy - the wind was blowing at the right speed to make me look like I was in slow motion, the sparkly glasses were firmly on, I was tapping on my phone (looking important), I was adorned with my most ladylike bag and I went to the post office...

YouTube is a thing I am doing now, well I have made one so I'm not sure if that counts. If you fancy having a look then that is definitely something you should do.
I managed to take a super small video of my outfit aswell just because the dress looks so much prettier with a bit of movement ^^^

Wishful Thinking.

I can't seem to be able to turn down tacky, Hawaiian themed clothing, spending the evening with a bottle of rum and ting or not. I picked up this t-shirt a couple of weeks ago for 50p (!!) in a charity shop and fell for its crazy charms, I threw it on with an 'in your face' necklace and I was good to go. Spring seems to be avoiding Manchester at all costs, so until the sun creeps through the clouds I am going to keep wearing outrageous prints, wearing spring lip colours, eating ice cream and hoping...

Bargain Hunter.

I mentioned in my last post that I succumbed to the charms of the charity shops and beauty establishments, so here we are. I found these pink thirties style heel for £3.99, a pink blouse for £2.49 and an awfully brilliant t-shirt for £1.99. The leather clutch is courtesy of a hunt through my grandmas wardrobe ;)

Harphurhey doesn't boast of many shops but what it isn't short of is bargain shops...

A new hat.

As you may have guessed by now, I am rather partial to wearing a jaunty hat. I found this at a handmade Christmas fair for a ridiculously low amount of pennies. It fits perfectly with my, you know - 1940s housewife image. I wore this outfit not only to see the new Twilight (with Marie and a whole cinema full of screaming teens) but also to see Laura Carlins and Chie Miyazakis ceramics exhibit, 'Moo Moo Woof Woof'. Although my bank balance would not allow me to purchase a beautiful pot, I did take a few photos of the exhibit but they are on my Tumblr if you fancy a gander.

I was able to grace the tables of Meat Liquor. Wayooo.

This shirt is in preparation for prancing around the fields at Glastonbury next year, although the rich colours seem to fit perfectly surrounded by velvet, thermal tights and mulled wine.

I wore this to dinner at my friends before we trekked into central London for a creative networking event. I have never been to a specific networking event before so I didn't really know what to expect. We were given a badge displaying our attributes to the evening, free wine and dips. It was interesting to see and speak to people who you otherwise probably wouldn't meet. We spent quite a while picking the brains of illustration agency 'Handsome Frank', standing in a corner talking to each other, drinking free wine and eating ALL of the dips. I regret nothing.

As always, the drunken night was followed by a drunken train journey home with a filthy McDonalds burger.

The day my skirt fell off.

Yes you read it right, my skirt fell off.... in public. This skirt has been waiting patiently in my wardrobe since I bought it in the Topshop sale last year, I gave it a little nip and tuck (far too long... what?) to make it wearable and how does it repay me? by reducing me, ultimately to a flasher. Thank god for thick tights (cheers Company) As you may be able  to tell from these photos, I turn into the most awkward woman when I'm having my photo taken despite my best efforts.

My style of late (in the words of my boyfriend) seems to be '1940's housewife' and I think I'm ok with that. I spent the rest of the day grasping my skirt to avoid another reveal, listening to a group of creatives talk about 'Creative Colloboration' and of course, drinking cider.

In other shocking news, today is the first time watching 'Deep Impact'. Shame on me. Although in my defence when it comes to world ending disaster movies I am more of an 'Armageddon', 'Independence Day' kind of girl.

All the leaves are brown.

Back in London, prancing around in the leaves. I took a break from job hunting this weekend to drink cider, wander around exhibitions, watch shit TV and generally enjoy a bit of banter with a few ace people. I discovered this gem of a coat at a pop up vintage stall in Hackney when Autumn was a mere glint in my Summer engrossed eye.

I have been splitting my time between job hunting and promoting my illustrated self to the big bad world. I have just sent out my first set of promotional material for halloween so I am keeping everything possible crossed that something (anything) will come from it. I know its a long, arduous process so I am trying to prepare myself for devastation. Ha!

Well and truly windswept.

When I was at home in Manchester I went on the traditional, yearly trip with the family to see the lights in Blackpool. It was officially the windiest day, quite possibly ever... but I strangely embraced it. I felt like my insides had been shaken awake - blown into life. When we cross the threshold into Blackpool, something clicks inside of me and I feel 5 years old again. I just want to run up and down the beach and screen excitedly when a new set of lights are discovered. Great, much needed day out.
