DIY Fur Trim
DIY Fur Trim Video

It's Autumn and fur is back!

All the shops are full of fur and fur trimmed clothing for an outrageous amount of money - I decided to do it myself.

You can use anything that may need updating in your wardrobe but I bought a top and skirt from BooHoo and customised ( I bought this top and this skirt).

If you want the clothing to last I suggest going around the glued on fur and stitching it on to add more support - I would also suggest hand washing over the machine.

DIY Iced Coffee

Summer arrives and along with the sun comes my 'iced coffee' cravings. As you can imagine, this can be quite a spendy habit - forcing me to find a cheaper and tastier alternative.

Watch, create and drink your body weight in cold coffee.

Tips:

- Don't use hot water.. a rather obvious one but you know...
- Make coffee iced cubes to avoid that slightly watery coffee aftermath
- Use pretentious jam jars to like the best, quirkiest coffee sipper

I may have gone a little wild with the DIY, crafty sessions recently - if you are looking for some weekend inspiration, click and you can see the rest of my videos on my channel. Please watch, like and subscribe if the mood takes you.

Welcome Back to the Eighties

After this weeks delayed video, I thought it was only fair to expand on the video and show you my new creations in full glory. I took my newly tie-dyed jeans for a wander around Camberwell Arts Festival, sampling the delights of the craft fair as I went. The baked goods were part of the cake competition that my housemates were judging.. pretty sure they did well, I mean - look at them. If I could offer you smell-a-vision, I would because they smelt mouth wateringly delicious (and tasted it, obviously)

The Camberwell atmosphere sucks you in and makes you want to feel like part of the community, I am pretty sure we all left the park with a library card and a fistful of activity leaflets that we are going to attend. If I every have an afternoon off and you can't find me - I may be sat amongst friends at the library film afternoon, eating cake with the Camberwell elders.

I also wanted to give my new love / hate sandals a whirl - I received 'interested' looks rather than looks of despair which is positive.

I stood on top of the world that day.

If you fancy watching me creating them, CLICK HERE - you can also find lots more evidence of me waffling and prancing around there also.

Contouring, A First Attempt...

So, contouring... Contouring has always been a slightly weird concept to the 'queen of pale' but witnessing other peoples chiseled features I was compelled to give it a go.

I gathered my tools:

- Bronzer, Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder 01 - Bodyshop
- Brush, Tapered Blush Brush - Ecotools
- Blush, Haute Pink, Revlon
- Blush Brush, Stippling Brush - Real Techniques

Carnage ensued - please watch, laugh, go forth and contour.

I have been going a little YouTube wild, so go and view my channel - please like and subscribe of the mood takes you...

Pancake Day.

It's pancake day - get making some pancakes and eat until you burst. All you need is 1 egg, a cup of self-raising flour, whisk, 1 cup of milk, a pinch of salt and a hot pan. Voila! I don't know about you but I'm going the nutella and strawberries route...

Painted Frame - DIY.

Materials - rubbish frame that needs a bit of sparkle, paint, brushes, newspaper and a couple of random patterns to adorn the frame.

Give the frame at least three coats of paint to cover.

Let the paint dry and add on the additional patterns.

I wanted a couple of frames to display my illustrations in a fancy manner - hope you like my card design (it was on my Tumblr a few months back but you haven't been formally introduced...) and also to put a few personal photographs in.

Flower Crown

I decided to go uncharacteristically girly for my cousins Christening - Drew this picture for him to be able to keep and discovered that babies are very strange to draw. I always naturally exaggerate features and to keep a baby cute you just cannot do that... anyway I was happy with the end result. The Christening was lovely - although I cannot believe how much cake was eaten even when feeling fragile after the previous night, everything was just too good not to - I mean look at those cupcakes.

White dresses are just so right for summer although I think the flaming red, sunburnt back definitely added something a little extra to the proceedings... being the palest of people the sun just doesn't agree with me. I manage to get sunburnt in the shade, I am allergic to grass and pollen dislikes me greatly. The best part about summer is the fact that I can wear a flower crown whenever I like (without too many strange looks..) I couldn't find one I loved so I ended up fashioning myself one with a selection of clip in flowers. The vintage brief case and lace gloves added to the 'girly' look - I went all out. I am also attempting not to look as awkward in my photos.. better?

On Boxing day we always have another big dinner and lots of family around to get drunk and eat a lot of food - another great night!

DIY Pressies

Bracelet DIY

I have been having an increasingly crafty Christmas - going back to a student status after being in a full time job definately takes a hit on the ol'bank balance, I have found a fun way around it, homemade cards, paper, tags and a few pressies! So if you are still looking for some pressies and fancy giving it a go...

You will need;
- embroidery cotton
- scissors
- a hard object (to lend a hand)
- clasps and rings
- beads
- time to faff

1. Gather materials and choose the colours you want your necklace to be.

2. Separate a few threads. I choose 1 thread from each colour to keep the necklace delicate looking.

3. Plait all the strings together, using your hard object to keep everything in place. (not gonna lie, this takes a while...)

4. Place on the bead of your choice, and then attach the clasp and the ring to each end of the necklace.

5. I then made a cardboard package to bring it all together :)

ENJOY!ENJOY! (I am hoping the recipient doesn't happen to read this...) CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE!!!
