Fool For Love - The Dress of Dreams

Fool For Love - The Dress of Dreams
This dress has been waiting patiently for the right amount of sun, grass and happiness to tease it out of the wardrobe. Myatts Field Park opened its gates for the 'Camberwell Arts Festival' delivering delicious food, reggae bands and shaved ice. SHAVED ICE? Possibly the most magical discovery, ever. Not only does it look ridiculously instagrammable but it's a delight to the taste buds.
Two of my housemates were judging the 'Camberwell Bake Off' - they appreciated my offer of being 'chief taster' before gracefully pointing me in the opposite direction... The bandstand was transformed to host a pretty spectacular reggae band, did you know that sunny days are made for reggae music?
Toujours Toi Family Affairs is one of the most beautiful brands, with one of the loveliest people behind the helm. Me and Nina discovered that we have a mutual love for what each other creates - skill swapping was the only way forward. Skill for skill, dresses for paintings.. but more on that soon!
Camberwell is starting to feel like home.
...You are picking apples on an orchard in Woodstock with your sweetheart, you carry your bounty back to the wooden cottage you are staying in and get started on apple pies and an afternoon nap...
Wear the Fool For Love dress with a big straw hat and a bunch of daisies .

Welcome Back to the Eightie's

Welcome Back to the Eighties
After this weeks delayed video, I thought it was only fair to expand on the video and show you my new creations in full glory. I took my newly tie-dyed jeans for a wander around Camberwell Arts Festival, sampling the delights of the craft fair as I went. The baked goods were part of the cake competition that my housemates were judging.. pretty sure they did well, I mean - look at them. If I could offer you smell-a-vision, I would because they smelt mouth wateringly delicious (and tasted it, obviously)
The Camberwell atmosphere sucks you in and makes you want to feel like part of the community, I am pretty sure we all left the park with a library card and a fistful of activity leaflets that we are going to attend. If I every have an afternoon off and you can't find me - I may be sat amongst friends at the library film afternoon, eating cake with the Camberwell elders.
I also wanted to give my new love / hate sandals a whirl - I received 'interested' looks rather than looks of despair which is positive.
I stood on top of the world that day.
If you fancy watching me creating them, CLICK HERE - you can also find lots more evidence of me waffling and prancing around there also.

DIY Tie-Dye, Acid Wash Jeans
You either love tie-dye, or you hate it and it so happens that I kind of love it.
Every summer, tie-dye makes a come back and I decided that DIY was the way forward, I also decided that filming the craft session was a great idea.
Please watch, craft and subscribe HERE.

Just got to be - Bumbag
Wednesday, 11 January 2012
Jumper, Skirt, Boots, Tights - Primark
Ring - Topshop, Tote - Zara
Full Primark outfit. Boom. To be fair I don't usually like wearing all one brand but it's definately turning out to be one of my most thrifty outfits. My bumbag was able to get in on the action - it may have drew a few strange glances BUT I think its ace. It was my first 'real' day back in Uni today for a (very cool, it turns out) lecture, lunch and a bit of banter. On my way home I managed to scope out a white shirt for £1 and a vintage 'Learn French' book from the 70's for £1.50 (it turns out that finding a vintage book on it somehow makes the whole learning experience seem more appealing...)
I still (as always) have an absolute mound of work to get through so I am generally going to have to be miss unsocial to claw my way through some of it, but I have a nice little trip to the V&A tomorrow to do some observational drawings (I will be the person looking slightly embarassed if people look at my sketchbook...) and then on to the Nobrow opening :) - they are both art related, which means I am not cheating. :)
Hope everyone is getting back into the monotonous swing of things after Christmas and are not drifting into a January depression... on a brighter note I cannot stop listening to the new Black Keys album - ACE!
