All The Pinks.

This was the day when I actually wasn't going anywhere that interesting, I just wanted to wear my new 'old' clothes and dress up a little - why not? Why should nicer clothes be pushed to the back of the wardrobe for special occasions? If I happened to be a fancy jacket or a particularly sparkly dress I would feel very left out of I only got to see the light of day once a year for an hour or two.

I emerged from the house looking like I was about to be whisked off somewhere fancy - the wind was blowing at the right speed to make me look like I was in slow motion, the sparkly glasses were firmly on, I was tapping on my phone (looking important), I was adorned with my most ladylike bag and I went to the post office...

YouTube is a thing I am doing now, well I have made one so I'm not sure if that counts. If you fancy having a look then that is definitely something you should do.
I managed to take a super small video of my outfit aswell just because the dress looks so much prettier with a bit of movement ^^^

A rainy day at Hampton Court.

A rainy day at Hampton Court.

With the unreliable British weather plans can be ruined so easily if you let them. Last week we had decided to take a trip to see Hampton Court, get the boat to Kingston for a drink and then have a BBQ at mine - obviously it was raining but we decided to go anyway! Yay (us 1 - weather 0) after all it is only a bit of water. Hampton Court is always such a fun place to walk around with the beautiful gardens and maze! You feel like you are way out of the hustle and bustle of London discovering the hidden charms of Henry VIII life - we decided against going into the palace as we had arrived in the afternoon so wouldn't have had enough time to really explore.... next time. The boat from Hampton to Kingston is always an interesting one with all the ridiculously expensive houses that you sail past on the way - it always helps if there is a promise of a pint of cider at the end. The BBQ was scrapped (as that is one activity that really does need some sun or at least no rain...) for a 3 course meal cooked to perfection by yours truly - we had chorizo in red wine with halloumi to start, peppered steak and veg followed by a vanilla cheesecake and a chocolate fudge cake (2 puddings!!!)

I thought my outfit was rather simple but perhaps I looked slightly mad - I was referred to by three separate people as quirky? There are worse things I suppose :)

It was one of those night where you are just having too much fun chatting, playing on a trampoline (yes I am 25) and drinking red wine to take photos so you will just have to take my word for it that it was a tip top night :)

Any fun rainy day stories?

The thrill of hunting for a bargain at car boots and in charity shops has always been a hobby of mine and one I must say one I am rather good at. Moonrise Kingdom has struck something in my vintage loving heart. Knee sock and shorts dresses/skirts take up almost half of my wardrobe, most of the time when I look in the mirror I worry that I dress like an over grown toddler... but you know. I may attempt to create a Suzy Bishop big collared, lacy number or lets face it I may not. Yes the binoculars were completely necessary to complete the look.

I wore this to go for dinner (great pizza) and drinks - ended up being very much about the drinks which led to dancing around in the living room at 4am belting out musical numbers. Sure.

Moonrise Kingdom...

... Everything I wanted and more. Wes Anderson - what a guy. His films have a distinct folky, rocky, light beaming, aesthetically pleasing feel to them - you can imagine every shot being captured and used as a beautiful photograph. I have come to expect greatness from each and every one of his films so I was a little nervous going to see Moonrise Kingdom incase I had built up an impossible vision of how good it was going to be BUT... it smashed it. I mean any film with Bill Murray in it (besides the horror that was Garfield...) is going to be pretty damn awesome.

In Moonrise Kingdom two young lovers flee their small town to be together - the freshness and sense of adventure feels like an escapade everyone wants to be a part of. I saw this pattern clashing film adventure at the 'Screen on the Green' cinema in Angel, which I am certain added to the wonderment of the film - cocktails and cake to your comfy/well bounced seat? Hell yes! With the old fashioned velvet drawstring curtains I felt like an excited child, which I suppose is the way you are supposed to view a Wes Anderson creation?

Suzy Bishop is pretty much my new style icon so you can expect to see me sauntering around this summer in mini dresses and knee socks, watching you from afar through my binoculars. I just had to draw her so I hope you like it.

Just awesome - 'Does it concern you that your daughter has just run away?'... 'That's a loaded question'
